Meet our Founders:

Dr. Anita Martin, Th.D. | Co-Owner & President Ordained Minister #SBC-OM-1843

As a child, Anita faced abuses that caused trauma effects as an adult. Learning the root causes of her decisions that turned out poorly was the beginning of a journey to discover who she was as a daughter of the King. Her testimony is her "why" she went back to school to get her Master's and Doctorate Degrees in Theology, speacializing in Christian Counseling from Summit Bible College (SBC), graduating summa cum laude. Anita is an ordained minister and a member of the SBC's Minister's Fellowship and member in good standing of the American Association of Christian Counselors. As a sexual abuse survivor, Anita works with women who have been abused to find their true worth and identity which is in Christ Jesus. Through Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), She is successful helping her counselee's develop better patterns of thinking. With advanced training in addiction recovery and relapse prevention, she works with women who have dealt with the devastating effects of addiction either through a spouse, significant other or their own. Dr. Martin has dedicated her life to helping individuals heal from deep emotional and spiritual wounds. Drawing from personal experiences of loss, rejection, and faith-filled resilience, she offers counseling rooted in biblical wisdom and professional expertise. She is also the author of the soon to be released Raw Faith: Devotions for Women's Deepest Hurts, a heartfelt guide for those navigating emotional pain through faith.
James Martin, Th.M. | Co-Owner & Vice-President Licensed Minister #SBC-LM-2276
  • After facing an early childhood trauma at the young age of 5 when his mother left and his parents divorced, Jim was not prepared to deal with the emotions and loss he experienced. As he grew up he buried those feelings deep inside as a mean of coping with the loss. Through most of his teen years and adult life, Jim found many ways to his his pain including serial relationships and eventually alcohol. But God had a plan! "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me." Psalms 23:4 God is good and in HIs timing, Jim was reunited with his High School love, Anita. He saw and wanted what she had, a sweet, intimate relationship with Jesus. Through his reconciliation and restoration he felt the call to serve alongside of Anita in a counseling ministry to steward his experiences to help others. Jim went back to school to complete his Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Theology, specializing in Christian Counseling at Summit Bible College (SBC), graduating with honors. Jim is a licensed minister and is a member of the SBC's Minister's Fellowship and is a member in good standing of the American Association of Christian Counselors. Jim specializes in helping men break free from the struggles that often hold them back—including pride, substance abuse, infidelity, addiction, and spiritual stagnation. His compassionate yet direct approach combines biblical truth with practical strategies, empowering men to:
  • Overcome destructive habits with faith-driven discipline.
  • Break the chains of addiction and unhealthy cycles.
  • Restore marriages and rebuild trust after betrayal or infidelity.
  • Find strength and purpose in their God-given identity.

Our Beliefs:

The Trinity
We believe "there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we lieve."1 Corinthians 8:6 NIV
The Bible
"We believe all Scripture is God-Breathed and useful one way or another - showing us truth, exposing our rebellion, correcting our mistakes, and training us to live God's way. 2 Timothy 3:17 The Message
A Loving God
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning.Lamentations 3:22-23
Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is Son of God and Son of Man. Was crucified, died and buried. On the third day he rose and sits at the right hand of the Father.
First and foremost we seek to bring all honor and glory to Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior for the priviledge to serve Him. Our desire is to restore people to their God-given purpose and plan through biblical principles and sound teaching. "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for the teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." 2 Timothy 3:16-17. At Martin Christian Counseling our goal is to help counselees understand the devistating effects of their sin. Through our Christ-centered, spiritually-rooted counsling we bring counselees into an intimate relationship with a loving Father, who desires nothing less than heart repentance and heart change to produce change that is genuine and lasting. If we can heal people, we can heal marriages; and if we can heal marriages, we can heal communities; and if we can heal communities we can heal a nation; if we can heal a nation; we can heal the world...one person, one marriage and one family at a time. "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble thenselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven and forgive their sin, and will heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14
At Martin Christian Counseling, our mission is to help clients experience the "peace that passes all understanding" (Philippians 4:7) through faith-based healing.
